Land Rover to Alaska

After many years living in the UK our client was returning home to Alaska and we were tasked with safely moving his treasured 1972 Land Rover 88 and personal effects the huge 9000+ miles home to Anchorage.

The voyage called at North Atlantic, Gulf and North Pacific ports before the container was discharged at Oakland, CA. We then arranged local US CBP clearance and container unpacking in California. The Land Rover and personal effects could then start the last leg of their journey, by coastal barge and enclosed trailer service respectively.

It was a pleasure to assist Nathan with his move to Alaska!

After initial discussions covering the preparation of the vehicle, personal effects and the multi modes of transport involved in shipping to Anchorage we met with Nathan to receive and store the personal effects. The Land Rover was booked in for a last service before departing UK shores.

The container was loaded from our Hull warehouse; the personal effects and Land Rover carefully stowed with an ISPM15 timber bulkhead, wheel chocks and heavy duty straps. The loaded container was lifted back to transport and delivered to the port of Southampton ready for loading once we had undertaken export Customs clearance and documentation formalities.

"Kingstown Shipping went above and beyond to make sure my 1972 Land Rover was transported safely from Great Britain to Anchorage, Alaska.

Stephen kindly extended warehouse hours after a three hour traffic jam on the M1 delayed my scheduled drop-off in Hull.

Kingstown also provided assistance in coordinating the final leg, via coastal barge from California to Alaska.

After four months and 9000 miles, the Land Rover arrived, carefully packed - and fired up on the first attempt.

Highly recommended."
