Caterham exports to the USA

Two friends with a taste for British Sportscars and America Road trips drew up their plans for their latest adventure and approached us to make it happen!

The two vehicles loaded to the vessel and started their 10 day ocean transit to Baltimore, MD. On arrival at Baltimore we managed via our local US office the local port handling, import Customs declaration, clearance, tax payment and collection paperwork allowing the US road trip to begin!

The next part of the adventure started with many admiring and intriguing glances from drivers not used to seeing these on the US freeways! And what road trip wouldn’t be complete in a British sportscar without a little tinkering under the bonnet!

The good news-a specialist Caterham dealership in the UK had the right cars in stock and a sale was quickly agreed. The not so good news–the 4000 miles and two Customs authorities between here and where the road trip was starting!

We started working with our clients as the purchase was completing and assisted with the pre shipment questions and queries that often arise around required paper work, vehicle preparation, delivery timings and sailing options. Schedules were quickly reviewed and the desired sailing was chosen.

The Caterham dealership included delivery to port within their sale, once payments were cleared we prepared driver delivery notes and instructions for efficient delivery of vehicles to the quay. Correctly prepared, the vehicles were inspected, received and given the green light for shipment. At this point we completed export Customs formalities and advanced filing to US CBP, a required process for shipping freight to the US ahead of it leaving the country of loading.

"I had zero experience with international shipping let alone shipping a vehicle on a roll-on-roll off ship prior to connecting with Kingstown. Honestly, the process was much easier than anticipated with Stephen guiding each step it was quite straight forward. If I have the opportunity to purchase another vehicle internationally I’ll surely use Kingstown."
