Vehicle Shipping

Shipping from and to the USA is our specialty; our first container service commenced 40 years ago from Los Angeles. Our container network now includes New York, Charleston, Miami, Houston, Los Angeles and Oakland. We also handle RORO shipment on the US East Coast, Gulf and West Coast.

Our export services are worldwide.

We also have a developed agent network in Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, Canada and Europe.

We offer a comprehensive range of door to door or port to port shared container, sole use container and RORO shipments.

A title certificate for a vehicle is now mandatory in most exports of vehicles from the US. There are some exceptions including some states not issuing title documents before a specific year or a very incomplete vehicle classified as parts. US CBP require this original documentation to export clear the vehicle for shipping.

It is always advisable to have a marine insurance policy as no automatic cover is offered by shipping lines or warehouses. We can assist in having the quotation arranged for marine insurance cover.

Customs Clearance

Our Customs declaration covers a wide range of national and multinational traders, manufacturers, freight and vehicle hauliers, trailer operators and members of the public.

We clear at seaports, RORO terminals, container terminals, inland clearance facilities and ERTS around GB and have our own digital links to all major inventory ports and locations.

The clearance time is typically based around time of goods arrival, unloading, payment of taxes and completion of any examinations, The majority of our declarations are returned same working day ready for goods movement.

Packing list
Copy bill of lading
Authorisation to clear Customs documents which contain importer or exporter details
Certificates – if applicable
Product specific documentation may also be required and will be explained
if this is thecase.

Vehicle Registration and NOVA

A Notification of Vehicle Arrival is issued by HMRC once they have been informed of the arrival of the vehicle. If duty or VAT is due a Customs declaration must first be submitted and cleared before the NOVA is applied for. We frequently arrange this for clients and then apply for their NOVA.

Copy identification and proof of address
MOT certificate or Type Approval number if applicable
Specific vehicle details – we will review above and advise the outstanding list of vehicle details for us to complete DVLA registration.

Yes we can assist in the preparation of your Customs declaration, NOVA notification and DVLA registration as required.

Yes we have assisted many clients in these circumstances from the issue of a DVLA recognised dating letter to Customs clearance, NOVA and DVLA registration.

Yes we can assist with adding the vehicle to NOVA ( a HMRC Transfer of Residence(ToR1) should be approved by to import)) and then subsequent DVLA registration.

The UK Government has relaxed MOT requirements for vehicles manufactured prior to 1st January 1960. Vehicles less then 10 years of age are required to pass IVA.
